It seems like this would be one of the problems with sleeping on a cloud. But its yet to have been addressed in the series.

Possible explanations for the moving cloud:
-A rogue wind, (possibly from a passing pegasus) hit the cloud.
-The cloud moved from the Everfree Forest.

Edit: North is now South
Edit: okay now north is now really south lol, and got rid of the snowman
